If you travel by plane, the arrival is at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport. Transportation from the airport:
Boat from Stockholm arrives at Helsinki Olympic terminal, distance from center is only one kilometer. Tram 3T takes you from terminal to center, just beside bus station. ( 3B goes from center to terminal. )
Bus number 102 shuttles from the early morning till midnight between Helsinki bus station at the city center and Otaniemi. The bus leaves from pier 51 at the bus station, which is located in the immediate city center. The trip takes about 10 minutes, 5-7 minutes more if the bus goes via Lauttasaari (marked by T on the bus).
The conference venue is located at the VTT (Technical Research Centre of Finland) in Otaniemi area, city of Espoo (see also some additional information), Www-pages city of Helsinki and information about Finland from Finnish tourist board.
