Anna Arsniva (ISFJ)

Amanuensis in the Media Lab Helsinki,
Information Officer in the Media Lab and in the Department of Media;
School of Arts, Design and Architecture (ARTS) in Aalto University

I am one of the amebas in between the School's central administration, the departmental/unit administration and the research administration; also popping in and out between communication activities, teachers, students and study planning. In addition to that, I can write and read, which are pretty good qualifications for my work.

- Media Lab information flow
- planning departmental communications ins and outs with other dept. information officers
- organizing Mlab and Dept. of Media MA studies with other people
- taking care of studies database information on courses; Mlab study information and tutoring if necessary
- more and less official stuff: secretary and member in several coordinating and planning groups; coordinating the annual Mlab application process; helping the Head of Department with official Big Thingies (like documents, queries); translating
- coordinating and planning our own professional profile within ARTS amanuenses' network
- partly taking care of visits, visitors, various meetings if necessary; creating contacts, visiting places & people - also updating my own knowledge this way

+ lots of other activities, for instance various planning tasks, writing this and that plus nagging about Lab's security

What Anna can't and won't deal with
- finances (cont. Maikki or Johanna, 3rd floor)
- technical questions (cont. Pekka, Heikki, Ilpo, 3rd floor)
- study affairs on ARTS level or international (operational) level (cont. study affairs office and Helena Härkönen or Juuli Kenkkilä in there, regarding international students' issues)

Where to find me

I don't like the idea and/or concept of Facebook, so you can't find me in there. I was in LinkedIn but got fed up with constant invites which I wasn't going to accept. I'm using Twitter and Qaiku for private social and educational needs, and I'm also feeding both Mlab and Dept. of Media Twitters and G+s. You can find me in Skype by searching the same nick as I'm using in microblogs. I can be found in Google+ using my own name. I'm participating a group blog or two and I do have a couple of blogs of my own. Or actually, my cats write one of them, I'm just channeling. My Flickr account is not a gallery but more like a storage for photos, but below there's a path to it.
